Catalog making in MS PowerPoint can add
tremendous power and features to provide tremendous flexibility in
catalog making approach. Catalog design settings and theme can be
configured at two stages:
Prior to Publishing Catalog in MS PowerPoint
(i.e. PowerPoint Album)
After Publishing Catalog in MS PowerPoint
(i.e. PowerPoint Album)
Once Catalog making process is done and MS
PowerPoint document contains photo album / catalog / digital album, it can be suitably used for
various purposes as well
Use for customer / event specific
presentation
Providing quick view of your catalog
items in your web (by providing its copy on your web, for web
visitor to download and review at its ease)
Using it as digitally distributable
catalog for sales campaign, releasing catalog supplement,
emailing customer driven mini catalog to customers etc
How to configure Catalog
Design Settings Configuration for MS
PowerPoint Album
From Catalog Management Window, select catalog
from catalog browse pane and click PowerPoint Catalog Setting button or
click Menu - (CatalogMaker - MS PowerPoint Catalog Design Settings).
Upon clicking, a new window for Design / Theme Configuration
Setting for MS PowerPoint Catalog Presentation will open.

This window is segregated into 3 panes:
Template
Under this pane, user can select custom
PowerPoint template file or can use pre built template files
(*POT) in MS PowerPoint program. User will require to select one
the above option from template pane and browse for template file
or browse PowerPoint program template folder (to select
available PowerPoint templates in MS PowerPoint program from
dropdown list).
Catalog Contents
Under this pane, user can configure catalog
content structure for its catalog presentation. User is required
to select / deselect the following content options:
Catalog Index (consisting of listing -
categorized thumbnail view, catalog item detail page and
customer response sheet)
Cover Page (User can then edit this
cover page from MS Word)
Company information Page (created using
enterprise information setting)
Catalog Collection (thumbnail view) -
User can configure catalog collection view on the following
two basic criterion through option selection:
Catalog Products detail view - User can
choose to either build catalog item detail page within catalog
(available through thumbnail clicking or through catalog
index) OR can select to integrate it with web link (wherein,
upon thumbnail clicking, it will take catalog viewer to web
catalog / respective catalog item detail page). In order to
use web catalog integration, user will need to provide web URL
for catalog item detail page in catalog item content window..
layout
Under this pane, User may configure
PowerPoint slide layouts with the help of layouts provided in MS
PowerPoint program.
select animation ( from dropdown list
containing animation schemes available in PowerPoint program)
select color schemes ( from dropdown
list containing color schemes available in PowerPoint program)
slide layouts (for gateway page,
thumbnail slides and catalog item's full page slide - select
respective layouts from dropdown list containing layout
schemes available in PowerPoint program)
thumbnail presentation navigation slide
(user has option to show all catalog items together OR can
display them categorized for easier navigation, depending upon
the number of catalog items and its purpose)
User must carefully,
plan layout and design schemes, for the MS
PowerPoint size limitations; and should set it to keep its
view proper and meaningful. Application also resets graphic
size , in line with layout provided. Please note that these
schemes are picked up from PowerPoint program and is applied
accordingly. In the event, these schemes are modified by user
in MS PowerPoint program, any such catalog / PowerPoint album
creation will be subject to scheme definition prevailing in MS
PowerPoint program
Slide Transition
Under this pane, User may configure
PowerPoint slide transition settings with the help of slide
transition schemas provided in MS
PowerPoint program.

select sound settings for PowerPoint

Catalog Item Detail

Under this pane, User may configure catalog
item's detail page settings:
User can opt to build catalog item
detail page in PowerPoint Album itself, or can use web link
URL content in Catalog Item Content to direct PowerPoint album
viewer to its web catalog.
Catalog Item Page heading (use catalog
item code and / or name)
catalog item contents to be displayed
in catalog item detail page (select any five catalog item contents
to be displayed). Catalog Item name/title and code/sku is
configured through heading section.
User must carefully
plan contents, for the MS PowerPoint page size limitations;
and should set it to keep its view proper and meaningful. Please note that this
item page content setting will
not be applicable, if user has opted for web link to catalog
item detail page (read with configuration setting).
Configuration of Catalog Design (Colors / Font / Background
Graphic / Animation / Theme etc), After publishing Catalog in MS
PowerPoint:
User can conveniently use
MS PowerPoint to configure catalog's
design setting. User will require to use
MS PowerPoint slide design formatting
tool or for uniform application, can use:
User can manually insert its custom content in such MS PowerPoint
Slide Presentation
and explore the power of MS PowerPoint to suit its catalog design /
contents / theme, for enterprise identity and objective.
